About Me
Hello!
My name is Rowan Rich. I currently work at as a staff geologist. I am working towards my Master's Degree with the department of at the University of Kentucky, which is where I also obtained my Bachelor's of Science degree in December of 2019. My current research is under and focuses on sinkhole characterization in the vadose zone using electrical resistivity imaging (ERI). Please go to to learn more about my research and uses of ERI that I currently do for Thoroughbred.

My scientific interests include Electrical Resistivity Imaging (ERI), mineralogy, and planetary sciences.

Favorite mineral: Tourmaline
Favorite rock: Gniess.

I really enjoy hiking, painting, and reading. If you see me looking at something from the ground- it's probably a rock. You'll know when you've found the correct house because rocks litter my driveway. Geology has taken me all over the United States! I've met great people along that journey and I hope it takes me to the rest of the world.

When my mom told me when I was about 7 years old that I should be a Geologist- I made that my goal! I stuck to it ever since.

Not everything about me is centered around Geology.
I also have a large animal family:
Cookie (Dog) Fluffy (Siamese cat)
Abbie (Tortishell cat) Ratatouille (Mouse)
